Fishing Report and Why is Winter Back?
It is mid May but the high today is 46 degrees, and I’m not happy about it! Neither are our Caddis and Golden Stones, who were just beginning to hatch in earnest only to be slowed by this cold, wet rain, wind and fog.
But! Have no fear…fishing still is good, we are just throwing subsurface flies while we wait out this winter-Esque weather.
The flows have bumped up a bit but higher on the Yakima good walk and wade opportunities exist. Boat fishing has been productive, we are fishing the seams and the soft water on inside corners have produced some beautiful fish for our clients.
And speaking of boats, I’ve started offering rowing classes again. Join me for a series of three sessions to learn the basics of rowing, safety, reading water, and rowing techniques for fishing from a boat.
Our online booking system is almost ready to go, but in the meantime call or text/email, and we will get you out on the water and into fish!
See you waterside!
